Is It True?

One of my favorite things to do is fact check Sherlockian posts and legends. Did people actually wear black armbands to mourn the Great Detective's death? Did Jude Law actually call Sherlock Holmes a rom-com? Was that character definitely inspired by that guy? Even if I don't find a firm answer, the rabbit hole is lots of fun.
